Grade 2 Probability: What Could Happen?

Your students become junior likelihood detectives in this fun, hands-on five-day unit! Through puppet-guided lessons and playful station activities, they'll learn to use the words impossible, possible, and certain to describe events, discover how complementary events work as perfect opposites, make predictions about spinners by looking at section sizes, roll dice to find the mode (the number that shows up most), and test whether those predictions hold true across different groups. The unit uses colourful anchor charts, tally recording, and engaging materials like spinners and dice to make probability feel like real detective work rather than abstract math.
